Memorials

Over the five years of the project we aimed to build a record of the impact of the First World War on families, the life of the town and, of course, the story of those who went to war, and of the many who did not return. The project encompassed the present civil parish of Dawlish, so that names of those recorded on memorials at Cofton and Holcombe are included as well as those who are buried in the town cemetery. In the course of the project, additional names were identified and a further plaque was added to the plinth of Dawlish War Memorial.

To view the list of names on the Dawlish, Cofton or Holcombe war memorials search by the local war memorial – All, Cofton, Dawlish and Holcombe.
